Training students, staff and employees to use the Library's printed and electronic resources is an important part of our work.

We offer training sessions in the use of electronic information resources and healthcare databases. Sessions can be for groups both large and small, or on a one-to-one basis.

Whether you're a PC novice starting from scratch, or an experienced researcher needing more specialised advice, please get in touch to find out more about accessing electronic information sources.

More general IT training is available through the Hospital's IT training department for NHS staff members, or from the University of York for its students and staff.

Database searching

Database searches for details of journal articles can be carried out via the Journals and Databases page on the NHS Evidence website,
www.evidence.nhs.uk/nhs-evidence-content/journals-and-databases (opens in a new window), using an NHS Athens ID. Please see our Electronic Resources page for help with Athens IDs.

Library training sessions

Training sessions covering access to electronic resources and an introduction to database searching, using an NHS Athens ID, are available by appointment.
